Presidents Day Ride 24
WOW, what a turn out, 18 Indian Motorcycle and a Hnnnd, sorry a Hoaaa, some Jap Crap

After a later than scheduled briefing due to some coffee drinkers not supping quick enough it was off, myself taking the lead with Paul Barrie playing tail end Charlie, to travel not 100 yards to stop again because 2 decided they needed fuel. (Please fuel bikes prior to departure
)

09.30, it was offski up tye M56, 1 jct to the Airport following the A555 through to the A6. The drop off system worked a treat after we turned for Chapel-en-le-Frith heading for our drinks break over at The Junction Inn after the sat nav threw a wobbly and took us down some paved single lane goat track., to find the Junction Inn shut, butvthe land lady was very kind and allowed those with bladders of old people to use the facilities. Thankfully Tony found the Rams Head open just up the road, so a slight detour from here. After wetting our pallets and whistles, feeding some fk with the delicacies of Meat Pie, we headed up to the M62 to our route through Milnrow, Littleborough, Todmorden, through to Walton-le-Dale for some welcome gas for the small tank folk. It was from here we decided to get to the M6 and head for the BBQ, alas, ‘Follow the Leader’ went pear shaped (and it was all going so well
) where 2 riders behind decided they knew the way, so a split up occurred, then I decided to not take note of my sat nav and instead of taking the turn for the M6 I proceeded to the M65
and seeing Brian and Val behind in the distance thought they’d taken the correct outer, alas this wasn’t the case and as I raced off to catch them up, they’d had actually followed me. Thankfully all ended well, all returned back to base. With explanations given along with apologies it was time to eat. Thanks to Tony for the delish skewers. Thanks to each and everyone of you for turning out. Hopefully catch you on the next group ride.

Don’t forget we have a charity weekend coming up. Check out the events on FB. We need yours and your friends money

Take it easy and hope you all enjoyed the day. Thanks for making MCO Riders the group it is, No1
